Although an essential component of the healthcare system, nurses rarely get the credit they deserve. Tight budgets never have enough to invest in this sector of specialists vital to the system as a whole.

  • The work of nurses is critical to ensuring proper patient care, yet it is often overlooked.
  • Hospital budgets rarely invest enough in making sure that nursing staff are operating at the highest levels of expertise.
  • Even moving from one department to another is an expense not often willingly assumed by hospital administrators. 

At the Roasters Foundation, we are dedicated to empowering the nursing community through financial support of their continuing education.

We believe that by providing nurses with the tools they need to be the very best at what they do, we are making an impact that has the potential to affect our entire health care system and our entire society.


The Nurses Knowledge Fund provides financial assistance to nurses who want to continue their education and further their professional careers. It was introduced by the Roasters Foundation in 2000. 

Through this program, we provide funding to nurses in hospitals across Canada:

At the Roasters Foundation, we recognize the need to address the growing shortage of qualified nursing staff in Canada. Our objective is to provide an innovative program that will create new incentives for this important body of professionals, allowing them to continue their careers in this country.
